## How it works

1. From the [attorney dashboard](https://www.openlaw.com/attorney/dashboard), or within Messages, use Send a contract or Request payment in Quick Actions.
2. Select the client or matter, choose a template, and customize terms if needed.
3. Send for e-signature or payment — the client is notified by email and in their dashboard.
4. Track status from [Transactions](https://www.openlaw.com/attorney/dashboard/transactions) — awaiting signature, completed, or payment received.

## Good to know

- Contract templates can be managed in Settings → Contracts.
- Payment requests use your firm's configured payment settings.
